SCENIC 10-MILE RUN A fast, slightly hilly, beautiful run  beginning with a four-mile route through the forest preserve and onto the curving streets of Park Forest. Townspeople are out in crowds encouraging you, giving  water and cheers. You will discover musical surprises all along the route including the famed string quartet in the  woods. This picturesque course is a CARA Circuit Race, a Gold Cup Series Race and certified by USATF (IL 01111 JW). 

Entry form must be at the Recreation & Parks office by Aug. 31.
No race day registration. 
Fee:     $30 (thru Aug. 4)
             $35(Aug. 4-31)
Limit:   1,700 runners

5K FUN RUN-WALK
  Beginning at 8 a.m., runners and walkers will enjoy entertainment and enthusiastic spectators along tree-lined streets of Park Forest.

Entry form must be at the Recreation & Parks office by Aug. 30. 
No race day registration. 
Fee:     $24 (thru Aug. 3)
             $29 (Aug. 4-31)
Limit: 500 runners

CHILDREN’S RACES
  There are races for children through 12 years of age beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Each runner will receive a T-shirt, number, and a finish  ribbon. (packet pick-up 6:30 - 9:00 a.m.) 

Toddlers: 1-4 years, 1/8 mile 
Kids: 5-8 years, 1/4 mile 
Juniors: 9-12 years, 1/2 mile 
Fee: $8

PACKET PICK-UP
Packets can be picked up on Sunday, September 2, from 1-5 p.m. at Village Hall (Indianwood and Orchard) or on race day between 6:30-7:30 a.m.

CHAMPIONCHIP
Championchip will be used for official timing. Runners must wear the chip (easily attached to your running shoe) to be an official participant and appear in the results. Finishers must return the chip at the end of the race. A $30 fee will be assessed for runners who do not return their chip. Runners will be officially scored on gun time, however, unofficial (postcard) results will include gun time and chip time.

FOOD FEST
We have some fabulous food lined up after the race, so bring the family and enjoy the fun. Runners will receive two food tickets and can purchase additional food items for a nominal price.

SCENIC 10 MILE AWARDS
Awards ceremony - 10:30 a.m.
Over $20,000 in awards and prize money will be awarded to the top Scenic 10 Mile runners. Top ten finishers are not eligible for age group awards.  Awards will be given to the top three men and women in age categories 0-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-99 and the top five men and women in age categories 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54.

5K FUN RUN AWARDS
Awards ceremony - 10:00 a.m.
Awards will go to the top male and female finishers. Age group awards will be given to the top three men and women in each age group category.
